Homebuyer Education

eHome America was designed to help more people obtain Certified Homebuyer Education. eHome America offers an online option to help individuals get the homebuyer education and certification that they need at their convenience.

Though this online course can not replace in-person homebuyer counseling, participants can gain a thorough understanding of the homebuying process.

Butler County participants in this course will be directly connected back to NHS, a NeighborWorks® Chartered Member. This ensures that participants continue to receive the one-on-one counseling they need over the phone or in-person while receiving their certification online.

eHome America was developed around the "Realizing the American Dream" educational text, created by Neighborworks® America. From this content, numerous educational videos were produced along with interactive forms and other downloadable materials. All items in this program are designed to enhance understanding of the homebuying process, from start to finish.

Upon completion of this online program, you will:

Obtain an official Certificate of Homebuyer Education to present to your lender
Become educated about the homebuying process and homeownership responsibilities

This program is designed for people that:

Have been asked by their lender to take a homebuyer education course
Are working with a local housing counselor
Want to be better prepared for purchasing a home
Are obtaining a USDA home loan

This course will take approximately 8 hours to complete and there is a $99 course fee as part of the registration.
